The Maitlandfield House Hotel in Haddington, is housed in a beautiful Georgian building that retains much of its period charm. Located within is the Brasserie Grill and Bar that caters to the hotel's guests with some wholesome Scottish dishes prepared from fresh and locally sourced ingredients while offering views of the beautiful countryside. The ambience is elegant and understated and perfect for small intimate dinners or large family gatherings.

The menu is a mix of modern and traditional recipes made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients and is changed on a seasonal basis. They include starters of hot smoked salmon salad on mixed leaves, and homemade fish and potato cake, they could be followed by mains of butterflied chicken breast with new potatoes and black pepper corn sauce, or roasted tomato and mushroom risotto with grated Italian parmesan cheese and olive oil. Grilled options of prawn cocktail with vegetables and brown bread, and plumped breast of chicken piri-piri are also available.

The entire dining experience is enhanced by a careful selection of house wines, or the local Belhaven Best beer. The hotel also offers a number of Scottish malt whiskies including Glenkinchie, a lowland malt distilled just four miles away.
